    • George Rudy, "was born September 23rd, 1823. On March 16th, 1847, he was married to Barbara Lichty. She was born January 2nd, 1825. Six years after their marriage they moved on part of lot No. 39, German Company's Tract, several miles west of the town of Waterloo were they resided until 1887, then they retired from the farm and moved to Waterloo where they reside at present. To them was born one child"

      George Rudy

      An old inhabitant died on Sunday in Waterloo. Born in 1823 in this County, married in 1847 to Barbara Lichty, he devoted himself to agriculture until he moved to Waterloo in 1887. His only child, a daughter, died in the same year after a 19-year marriage to J. Kunkel. His widow, five grand-children and 6 great-grandchildren mourn his loss. Burial took place yesterday, Wednesday, at the Mennonite cemetery in Berlin.
