  Rebecca Rudy, "was born October 29th, 1825. On March 25th, 1845, she was married to Samuel Shantz who was born January 16th, 1811, and died January 17th, 1895." Eby, Ezra E. (1895). A biographical history of Waterloo township and other townships of the county: being a history of the early settlers and their descendants, mostly all of Pennsylvania Dutch origin: as also much other unpublished historical information chiefly of a local character. Berlin [Kitchener, Ont.]: [s.n.]. _________________ Rebecca Rudy, widow of the late Samuel Shantz, died at her residence in Berlin on Wednesday June 7th, at the age of seventy-three years, and 9 months. The funeral took place from her late residence on Friday morning at 9 a.m. to the old Mennonite church at Berlin and was attended by a large concourse of mourning friends and relatives.
