  PLANT, ROBERT "DADDY" The death of the well known Salvation Army soldier, "Daddy" Plant occurred on the night of Thursday, March 9, 1911, aged 81 years, 6 months and 5 days. He was a resident in this locality for half a century. He was born in Ireland and came to this country when about 30 years of age. "Daddy", as he was generally known, was a favourite with everyone. He was of that genial, good nature that all good Irishmen are noted for. He followed the occupation of farming. He always took a great interest in the Salvation Army, marching in ranks up to the time he took ill five weeks ago. He leaves his wife and seven children, John, William and Thomas, in Hespeler; Henry in Owen Sound; James in Oregon; Mrs. William Lantz in Hespeler; and Mrs. Furness of Hepworth. The funeral was held with Salvation Army honours and was conducted by Captain Hunt and Rev. Beese on Sunday at 2, from his residence on the Guelph Road to Hespeler Cemetery.
