    • Abraham H. Clemmer, "was born September 3rd, 1857. He followed teaching for quite a number of years. In 1887 he received the appointment of clerk for the municipality of West Toronto Junction which position he still holds. He is married to Louise Gabel. They have had a family of three children, namely: Lorna Caroline, died January 2nd, 1887, Gladys, died an infant and Cecil Clarence."

      Abram H. Clemmer

      The death occurred yesterday of a well known and respected citizen of West Toronto in the person of Abram H. Clemmer, who died at his residence, 15 Howland avenue, where he had lived for the past 14 years. Mr. Clemmer was born in Kitchener in 1857 and came to old Toronto Junction in 1888. As a young man he became a member of the Junction council and was later town treasurer of West Toronto. For a number of years he conducted a wholesale lumber business at Scotia Junction, Ontario, and retired from active business seven years ago. In religion he was a Presbyterian, attending Victoria Presbyterian church, and was a member of the choir there for 29 years. In politics he was a Liberal. Well known in fraternal circles, Mr. Clemmer was a member of Doric Blue lodge, St. Patrick's chapter, a past patron of the Eastern Star and an honorary member of Deborah Lodge. For the past year and a half he has been in failing health. He is survived by his widow and his son, Dr. C. C. Clemmer.

      The Departed
      Abram H. Clemmer

      Abraham H. Clemmer, 15 Howland ave., Toronto, passed away at his residence last night in his 70th year, following an illness extending over a year. The late Mr. Clemmer was wellknown in Waterloo county and the surrounding territory. He was born on the Clemmer farm on the Breslau road where he spent his childhood. For many years he followed the teaching profession, being employed in schools at Berlet's Corners, Tavistock, Petersburg and Baden. Because of his kindly disposition he was liked by the children he taught, and those who knew him. His death will be deeply mourned by his large acquaintance. On leaving the teaching profession he went to Toronto where for some time he held the office of city clerk In West Toronto. After leaving this position he engaged in the lumber business. He is survived by his bereaved widow, nee Louise Gehl of Baden, and one son, Dr. C. C. Clemmer of Toronto. One brother, Eli, of this city also survives. The funeral will be held from his late residence on Saturday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock to Prospect cemetery in Toronto where interment will take place.
