Notes |
- Dillman Ziegler, "was married but name of his wife was not ascertained. His family consisted of six children...Elizabeth, married to Gottshall Godschalk, Hester, married to Garret Godschalk, and Barbara, married to Jacob Godschalk. All of the last named family remained in Pennsylvania save Dillman(IV) who was born about the year 1781. He was married to Catherine Schwartz who was born in 1782, and after her decease he was again married to Elizabeth Clemmer. In 1816 he, with his first wife and family together with Joseph Bowman and family, Samuel Eby and family, and Joseph Clemmer, moved to Canada and settled in Waterloo County, Ontario, near the village of Preston, on the farm now known as the old "Salyard Farm." Here they resided for quite a number of years. After he left the farm he resided in different places and finally settled in Hamilton, Ontario, where he died in 1848. To them was born a family of six children,.."1
