An Old Settler Gone. - On Thursday last 7th Sept. Mr. Joseph Fisher, Senr. died at his residence lot 7, 2nd con. W. D. Colborne, aged 71 years. The deceased was one of the oldest settlers in the Township, having settled there in the year 1846. He first visited Goderich about the year 1834, and his first recollection of the town was as a post station consisting of three houses. After remaining here a few years he removed to Waterloo, where receiving the deed, from his father, of the Colborne farm he returned down to clear off the woods and make for himself a home. Descended from the Pennsylvania Germans, he manifested the industry and shrewdness of the people during his lifetime, thereby winning the respect of his neighbours and much of this world's guest?
