      PRESTON--Samuel Cress, 79, died at his home, RR 1, Blair, Sunday morning. Mr. Cress died in the farm home in which he was born and where he had lived all his life. He had been ill since Christmas. Born April 25, 1874, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Cress, he was the last surviving member of the family. Mr. Cress was a member of St. Clement's RC Church and the Holy Name Society. In 1919 he was married in Preston to Mary Massel, who survives with four daughters, Mrs. George Martin (Jean), Mrs. L. Hannusch (Mildred) of Blair; Mary Louise at home and Mrs. Grace Baird of Kitchener: four sons, Robert of Rainy River, Ont., Donald of RR 1, Ayr, Philip and George at home. The body is at the Stager-Pass Ltd. Funeral Home. Requiem mass will be celebrated at St. Clement's RC Church on Wednesday at 9 a.m. with burial in St. Clement's Cemetery.
