      Frederick Rohleder Succumbs To Heart Affliction; In Position Since 1905

      Frederick Rohleder, well known Kitchener Division Court clerk. died at his home, College and Duke streets, early today. He had not been in good health for bout two years owing to a heart affliction but recoverd. at intervals He had improved to such an extent that he was able to attend the regular Division Court sitting a weeks ago.

      Mr. Rohleder was in his 72nd year and was born in Germany. When a boy of 14 he came to Toronto to live with his uncle, Rev. J. Rohleder. He attended St. Jerome's College. Kitchener, and resided with P. Baecher on the former Jackson property at the north-west corner of King and Water streets. After leaving college, he studied law in the offices of Bowlby and Clement, the members of which firm were the late W. H. Bowlby. former own attorney and the late E. P. Clement, K.C. He was called to the bar at Osgoode Hall, Toronto as a barrister in 1889 in which year he was also appointed a notary public. He was appointed clerk of the Kitchener Division Court by the Ross government in 1905 Just before it went out of office and since at time held the position. He was no longer in the local civil service than any other employee at the county buildings. During that long period, he was a popular official, his effability and disposition being outstanding.

      The deceased gave public service to his community as a member of the municipal council. He was elected a member of the town council in 1897 and 1898, and also was member of the council in 1910, 1911 and 1912 He was city assessor for several years.

      He was a member of St. Mary's C.M.B.A., S. Boniface Society, Holy Name Society and of the Knights of Columbus.

      He is survived by his wife Mary Ann Grasser, and three children. Edward H. and Mrs. Frank Wiley, city and Mrs. Harold Gaskin. Galt. There are four grand children ana and sister M. Elizabth Rohleder, city. There are also two step brothers and two step sisters.

      The funeral wiil be held at ten o'clock Friday from the home 26 ...? to St. Mary's church and Interment will be made in Mount Hope cemetery.
