    • Walter J. Schaefer - By Record Correspondent - NEW HAMBURG - A native of New Hamburg, Walter John Schaefer, 39, died yesterday at Toronto General Hospital. He had been a patient in the hospital for the past three months, and had been ill for some time. An accountant, he was an employee of the Public Utilities Commission for eight years, and had also worked in Stratford. During the war, he served for four years as a navigator with the RCAF. He attended St. Peter's Lutheran Church in New Hamburg. His father, Charles Schaefer, predeceased him. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Emma Schaefer; one brother, Lorne; three sisters, Mrs. Nicholas Klassen and Mrs. Conrad Klassen of New Hamburg and Marie Schaefer, Kitchener. The body will be at the Futher -Omand funeral Home, New Hamburg, until Saturday at 1: 30 pm. The funeral will be held at St. Peter's Lutheran Church at 2: 30 and burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. Rev. R.G. Johnston will officiate. Friends are asked to pay their respects prior to the service.
