- In 1870, Henry Winterhalt appears as Tenant of Thomas Hammett, and later on as owner on the south side of Queen Street where he continued until he sold out I believe, to Thomas Gingerich, who remained only a brief time and then moved to Glen Morris. Winterhalt, who was also local constable went to Berlin as their chief of Police after he captured Kruger the horse thief, which event was of front page proportions.
