- RATZ, REGINALD GUY (DICK) was a native of Elmira and was educated there and at Kitchener Waterloo Collegiate. He served in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve in 1918-1919.
He graduated in Medicine from the University of Toronto in 1921.
He was a popular family physician practising in Kitchener from 1923 to 1940, becoming involved in industrial medicine at Kaufman Rubber from 1930.
He had maintained his interest in military affairs, being active in the militia from 1921, and in 1940 went overseas as Lieutenant-Colonel, Officer Commanding the 24th.
Light Field Ambulance. In 1945 he became the Chief of the Civil Service Health Division, under the Department of National Health and Welfare, and in 1954 was appointed Principal Medical Officer of the Medical Advisory Services, where he served until his retirement in 1964.
He died in Ottawa on April 13, 1965, in his 67th. year, and was survived by his widow, two sons and two daughters.

RATZ, Reginald Guy, M.D. In hospital on Tuesday, April 13, 1965, Dr. Reginald G. Ratz of 60 Blenheim Dr., Rockcliffe Park, Ottawa, beloved husband of Helen M. Maxwell and father of Jane, Ruth, John and George, in his 67th year. Interment took place in the family plot, Elmira, Ont. Persons wishing to make a memorial gift are invited to donate to the Canadian Arthritis and Rheumatism Society.
