- A well-known resident of Elmira, Mr. John Otto Rook, passed away at his home here on Monday, Nov. 18. Death was due to heart trouble. Deceased had been in poor health for the last year and a half, being confined to his home for the past four weeks.
Deceased was born in Elmira on Feb. 6, 1887, and had resided here all of his life, except three years when he served in the army during the World War. On Nov. 17, 1913, he was married to Miss Nelda Keller. He was a member St. Pauls' Lutheran church and the Kitchener branch of the Canadian Legion society.
Surviving are his wife, one son, Stuart, a member of the RCMP, Wainwright, Alta., and one sister, (Nettie) Mrs. Russel Long.
The funeral will be held this afternoon (Thursday) at 2: 30 pm from Dreisinger's Funeral Chapel. Interment will be made in the Elmira cemetery. Rev. F. Malinsky will officiate.
Pall-bearers will be Messrs. Norman Ruppel, Hilbert Weichel, Louis Ruppel, Fred Howard, Walter Schaus and A. W. Hoffer.
