How near to death life is, how close together are laughing and weeping, was exemplified here on Thursday. When all the village was on the tiptoe of expectation waiting for the coming of the excursion train from Guelph, the silent messenger, Death. called at the home of Mr. John Weitzel and took with him the lattter's mother,
Deceased was a native of Hessen-Darmstadt, Germany, where she was also married to the late Nicholas Weitzel, who died 29 years ago. They came to Canada about 1857, and after living in Berlin less than a year, came to Elmira, where they lived the rest of their lives. Two children were born to them and both survive, namely, John in town and George, of Brantford. Deceased was an active, hard-working woman, and a kind mother. She was sick only a few days, with stomach trouble and a general breaking down of the vital forces from old age. The funeral takes place this (Saturday (afternoon at 2 o'clock.

The death of Mrs. Weitzel took place last Thursday at Elmira, at the home of her son, Mr. John Weitzel. The deceased, was a native of Hessen-Darmstadt, Germany, where she was also married to the late Nicholas Weitzel, who died 29 years ago. They came to Canada about: 1857, and after living in Berlin less than a year, came to Elmira, where they lived the rest of their lives. Two children were born to them and both survive. namely, John, in town, and George, Brantford. Deceased was an active, hard-working woman, and a kind mother.
