  Mr. George (Doc.) Whitlock, was born at St. Marys, Ont., 1855. He entered into the service of the railroad as news boy, in 1870. He passed through the various stages of railway life, and was promoted to the Conductorship in 1879. Prior to coming to Elmira, he conducted trains from Sarnia to Toronto and from Niagara to Buffalo. He is very popular as a conductor, is a good citizen, and has decided preference for literary work. Enterprising Elmira Souvenir, An historical, descriptive, and illustrated Book of the Village of Elmira, Waterloo County, Ontario, Canada, published by George Klinck, 1903. __________________ Local News: On account of the death of his mother-in-law, Conductor Whitlock of the Galt-Elmira train, was off duty, a few days this week.
