- Mrs. James Payne
ELMIRA - Following a short illness, Mrs. James Payne, 76, of 30 Centre St., Elmira, died today at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Gurr, 80 Traymore Ave., Hamilton. She was the former Elizabeth Ward, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Ward of England and was born in Leicester, Eng. Dec. 20, 1876. She is survived by her husband; one son, Arthur, Waterloo; two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd S. (Edith) Gurr of Hamilton and Mrs. Milton (Elsie) Rudow of Elmira, seven grandchildren and three sisters and two brothers in England. Funeral will be held Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Chapel and burial will be in the Elmira Cemetery. Rev. W.M.B. Metcalfe and Rev. F.M. Cryderman of St. Catharines will officiate. The body is at the funeral parlor
