- POPULAR MAN IS SUDDENLY STRICKEN
Albert Kehl, Noted Sport Enthusiast, Died on Sunday; Resided Here 29 Years
Tragically sudden was the passing of Albert Kehl on Sunday evening at his home on King street. He had been enjoying fairly good health, and was in his accustomed place at the Elmira Furniture factory on Saturday. Sunday he complained of a headache, and although it was not thought to be serious he passed away Sunday evening without warning.
The late Mr. Kehl was born in Woolwich Township in 1893. When about four years of age his family moved to Elmira, where he attended public school. When a young man he entered the Elmira Furniture Factory, where he has been employed for the past 16 years. He was married on July 1, 1913 to Florence Norman of Elmira by whom he is survived as well as by his three children, Ruth, aged 12, Kenneth, 11, and Hubert, 8. Two brothers, Fred of Barwick, Rainy River District and Percy of Kitchener and one sister, Annie (Mrs. F. Vandeventer) of Hamilton also survive. One brother George of Listowel passed away a year ago.
Mr. Kehl was a member of the Elmira Lodge of the I.O.O.F., No 216 and was a past N.G. He was very much interested in sports, being prominent to baseball hockey, and bowling.
The funeral was held on Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock from his late residence, 45 King street to the Elmira Union church for service. Interment was made in the Union cemetery.
