- GLADYS F. BELKNAP
Gladys F. Belknap, 99, of Lakeside Nursing Home and formerly of McGraw House, died July 18, 1996 at Lakeside. Mrs. Belknap was born February 1, 1897 in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, daughter of the late George and Anna Frost Bergman. She was a graduate of
Ursuline College, Chatham, Ontario, Canada and taught school in Canada until she married Rev. Elmer A. Belknap in 1920. Together they served churches in the United Church of Canada-Bay of Quinte Conference. After becoming U.S. Citizens in 1926, they served United Methodist Churches in the Western New York Conference: Pittsford, Cuba, Clarence, Hamlin, Garland, Lyndonville, Buffalo (Seneca St. & Calvary), Oakfield and Adams Basin.
Mrs. Belknap was preceded in death by her husband in 1975. Surviving are her daughters, Bonnie Schoenrock (Mrs. Kenneth) of Toledo, Ohio and Betty Pirko (Mrs. Edward) of Ithaca, her sons and daughters-in-law, Stewart and Jeanette Belknap of Mesa, Arizona and Murray and Dorace Belknap of New Port Richey, Florida. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
At Mrs. Belknap's request there will be no calling hours. A private family service will be celebrated by her grandson, Dr. Barry Belknap at the Grove Place Cemetery, Rochester at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to either McGraw House, 221 S. Geneva St., Ithaca or to Lakeside Nursing Home, Ithaca.
