- MISS L. SHEPPARD
Mr. F. W. Sheppard, Public School Inspector, received the sad intelligence by cable on Wednesday night of the death of his sister, Miss Laura Sheppard, which had taken place at Trowbridge, Eng., where she had been visiting for some time. The news came as a shock to the relatives of the deceased here as a letter written three weeks ago had been received about a week ago stated that she was well. The late Miss Sheppard was born in Bath, England, in 1857 and came to Canada with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Sheppard, when a child coming to Kitchener in 1872. She has lived here ever since with the exception of a few extended visits abroad. She was the last of the daughters of the family, and is survived by two brothers, Fred W of this city, and E. J. late of the GT. R. Audit Office, Montreal. She was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, and had many friends in this city who will regret to learn of her demise. The funeral was held today, the burial taking place near her birthplace.
