  Benjamin Erb, "the youngest son in the family of John (Jacob) and Salome (Graybill) Erb, was born in 1820. When a young man he was married to Miss Hannah Master and resided in New Hamburg where he was engaged in the mercantile business. Some forty years ago he moved to one of the Western States where he died in 1856, leaving a family of six children" Eby, Ezra E. (1895).
