Elinor is also survived by her son Clare James Martin and his wife Laurie of Bamberg, loving granddaughters Alison Bond (Steve) of Tavistock, Leah Martin of New Hamburg, and Sandra Martin of Bamberg. Elinor was raised on a small farm on Moore Avenue in Waterloo helping with her father's businesses which included the Ontario Seed Company and the Silver Thread Sauerkraut Company. After the war, Elinor followed her husband's hockey career starting with the Waterloo Siskins, the NHL and finally to the Kitchener Dutchmen. Elinor, Clare and family moved to London, ON in 1971 where she enjoyed curling at the Highland Country Club and took many trips abroad with her husband until his death in 1980. As a certified lifeguard, Elinor volunteered by swimming with mentally challenged children. Moving back to Waterloo to be close to her granddaughters and family, Elinor continued to care for her son Philip and daughter Marianne until their passing. Volunteering at Freeport's Grand River Hospital with Al Lucas, Elinor again reached out and touched so many with her compassion. Elinor enjoyed her loving grandchildren, time spent at the cottage at Inverhuron, music, and many facets of art. Her will and strength in adversity was inspiring.
