  JOHN LICHTY After a brief illness, John Z. Lichty, 70, 16 Main St.. Waterloo, died at his home Wednesday, July 8. Born May 29, 1889, In Woolwich township, he was the son of the late Solomon Lichty and Sarah Ziegler. He had lived in Waterloo for the past 35 years. Surviving are his wife, the former Nellie Shantz; one son Edward of Waterloo; one step-son Stanley Shantz of Waterloo; one brother, Sidney of Waterloo; two sisters, Mrs. Martin of Drayton and Mrs. Menno (Hattie) Burkhardt of Waterloo; and six grandchildren. One brother predeceased him. His first wife, the former Annie Oetzel, predeceased him in 1924.
