The unfortunate death of the late Conrad Kuehner, which occurred on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock has cast a gloom over a large circle of friends. In perfect health on Thursday morning, he was injured by being struck in the abdomen by a piece flying board, and after suffering excruciating pain for nearly forty hours, death came to his relief. The deceased was born in Breitenbach, Kurhessen, Germany in 1848, and was in his 55th year. He came to Canada when 18 years of age, and located in Waterloo, where he learned his trade as wood turner, at which he worked for three or four years. He then became a machine worker, and was in the employ of Wegenast & Co.. for 28 years. Several years ago be moved to Berlin and has since been employed at D. Hibner & Co's Gactory, and was considered valuaable employee. The deceased was an active member of the Woodworkers union, No. 112, and at the time of his death was its secretary. He was also a member of Waterloo Lodge, A. J.U.W. He was married about 33 years ago, and besides his widow he leaves a family of seven children, five sons and two daughters - Lincoln, A. Irwin W., Mrs. August Knoepfle, of Brantford; and Adeline, Milton, Gordon, and Wilfred at home. The dedeased was a member of Zion Evangelical Church, and took a keen interest in its welfare.
