  Death of Mr. Thomas Uren - the death of this old resident of Galt, which we were pained to shortly announced last week, as having suddenly occurred while working at the residence of Matthew Wilds, Esq., was absolutely momentary. Mr. Uren was working in the coach-house, in company with the coachman, and suddenly asked the latter "to open the door as he felt faint." The coachman started to do so when he saw Mr. Uren stagger and went to his assistance, but after laying him down, the deceased scarcely gave more than a gasp or two before his spirit took its flight. The cause of his death was heart disease. Mr. Uren was a very old and highly respected resident of Galt, and had many friends. But the day before his death in conversation with a friend on Main street, he said that he had just walked down from Mr. Wilks' and he then appeared cheerful and comparatively well, but he also said that he disliked staying away from home at night, as he did not sleep well and had trouble with his heart. In twenty-four hours from that time his spirit had passed away. The deceased leaves a widow and four daughters, viz.: - Mrs. George Simons, of Toronto, and Mrs. George Hancock, Mrs. Easton and Miss Uren, of Galt. It will be remembered that his son Edward was one of the victims of the steamer accident at the dam in 1878.
