  A-2-57 Philip Kappler Letters of Administration of the estate of Philip Kappler, late of the Township of Wilmot, Innkeeper, deceased, who died on or about the 8th August 1858, at the Township of Wilmot, and who at the time of his death had a fixed place of abode at the Township of Wilmot, made and duly executed his Last Will and Testament, and did therein name John Miller and Carl Montag both of the Township of Wilmot, Yeomen, the Executors thereof. A true copy of which said Last Will and Testament is hereunder written… and be if further known that on the 31st of December 1859, Letters of Administration with the said will annexed…were granted…to Magdalene Kappler of the Township of Wilmot, the widow of the said deceased, the said John Miller being dead, and the surviving Executor Carl Montag having duly renounced all right and title to the probate… …I Philip Kappler in the Township of Wilmot, being of sound understanding and memory…make and ordain, publish and declare the following as my Last Will and Testament, namely after all my just debts are paid, I bequeath and devise the balance of my property as follows, namely to my beloved wife Magdalene Kappler, a born Scherdrang, as sole or unusual inheritress with the condition to bring up our under aged children Christianly and virtuously and to furnish them out ("auszustatten") in case they get married. But should my wife Magdalene Kappler marry again after my death then she shall only claim her lawful heritage. Without that my daughter Maria Kappler has already received sixty dollars and my daughter Catherine Kappler already forty dollars of their inheritance. Likewise I make engage and constitute my neighbors John Miller in the Township of Wilmot, as above, and Carl Montag of the same Township, to be Executors of this My Last Will and Testament… Letters granted 31st December 1859 Will witnessed by Carl Montag, Wilmot, and George Peppler, Wilmot.
