  Christian Stauffer, "son of John Stauffer, was born February 17th, 1799. He was raised in York County, Ontario, near Stouffville, where he was married, April 15th, 1823, to Magdalena Raymer who was born June 8th, 1796, and died April 2nd, 1888. In their old age they moved to Oxford County, near Plattsville, where he died September 25th, 1868. To them was born a family of eight children" Eby, Ezra E. (1895). A biographical history of Waterloo township and other townships of the county: being a history of the early settlers and their descendants, mostly all of Pennsylvania Dutch origin: as also much other unpublished historical information chiefly of a local character.
