Notes |
- DEATH OF MR. JAS. HAVILL
Our readers will regret to learn of the death of Mr. James Havill, one of the oldest residents of Galt, which took place on Tuesday night. The deceased who has not enjoyed robust health for many years, has failed steadily, since the death of Mrs. Havill, some nine weeks since and for the passed month his family were prepared for is death, at almost any time. Mr. Havill came to Galt in 1843 and followed his trade as a plasterer, till failing health compelled him to relinquish active business. He was better known to the older residents of the town, than to the younger generation. He was a man of a quiet, unassuming disposition and in the circle of his friends was much esteemed for his kindness of heart, and friendliness of manner. The funeral will take place today, (Thursday), at 3 p. m., from his late residence, Concession street, to Trinity Church Cemetery.
