    • Laid at Rest - All that was mortal of the late Mrs. Peter Hope, who passed away on Thursday, July 2nd after a lingering illness, was laid to rest in the Ayr cemetery on Saturday afternoon last, Rev. Dr. Thomson conducting the services. Deceased was born in the village of Jedborough, Roxburghshire, Scotland, over 90 years ago coming to Canada with her parents when a girl of 10, where they settled on a farm on the Galt road a short distance from the village. She was married about 69 years ago to Peter Hope, who predeceased her some 7 years ago and since her marriage had resided n her late residence, Jedborough. Deceased was a member of Stanley St. Church for a great number of years and was much beloved and respected by a wide circle of friends. She is survived by one daughter, Jessie and one son, Thos. H. of Waukegan, Illinois. The pall-bearers were: Messrs. C. McGeorge, John G. Watson, Wm. Richmond, Thos. Scott, Thos. Hope and Jas. Henderson.
