  Former Resident Dies Philo Griffin, a former resident of New Hamburg, passed away at the Stratford Hospital on Wednesday morning in his 89th year. He had suffered a stroke seven years ago and had since been in failing health. Mr. Griffin was born in Straffordville and before moving to Stratford was employed as a moulder in the Hahn Brass plant here. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Stratford. Surviving besides his wife, the former Minnie Racho, of New Hamburg, are three sons and five daughters. There are also 22 grandchildren. The funeral will be held on Saturday afternoon with service at the Heinbuch Funeral Home in Stratford and interment in Avondale Cemetery. Rev. G. N. Schaus of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Stratford, will conduct the funeral services. New Hamburg Independent, July 4, 1952
