  Pte. Frank Ludwig Missing in Italy Jan. 21, 1944 Having served in Africa and Sicily, Pte. Frank Joseph Ludwig, 36, has been missing in Italy since Dec. 24. The news has been received by his wife, who lives at 20 Brunswick Avenue. Pte. Ludwig enlisted with the Highland Light Infantry stretcher bearers in June, 1940 and, according to latest information, was at motorcycle driver, carrying medical supplies. Prior to enlistment, he was an upholsterer, and had training with the 24th Field Ambulance. An 11-year-old son, Carl, is anxiously waiting with his mother for further word. _____________ Frank Ludwig Safe in England June 7, 1945 Pte. Frank Ludwig, Jr., 37, who was taken prisoner in Italy a year ago last December, is now safe in England, according to word received by his wife, 20 Brunswick Ave. Pte. Ludwig enlisted with the H.L.I. in 1940 and while in Italy had been a dispatch rider carrying medical supplies. Before enlisting he was an upholsterer and a member of the 24th Field Ambulance. Pte. Ludwig served in Africa and Sicily before going into action in Italy.
