  John C. Erb, "the ninth and youngest child of Daniel and Barbara (Cressman) Erb, was born September 28th, 1828. He is married to Mary, eldest daughter of Benjamin E. and Elizabeth (Cressman) Eby. She was born June 17th, 1840. They reside on the old 'Kaufman Farm', about two miles south-east of Berlin, near the Township Hall at Centreville. To them were born two children" Eby, Ezra E. (1895). A biographical history of Waterloo township and other townships of the county: being a history of the early settlers and their descendants, mostly all of Pennsylvania Dutch origin: as also much other unpublished historical information chiefly of a local character.
