  David Y. Shantz, " was born near Berlin, Ontario, August 29th 1819. On March 15th, 1842, he was married to Barbara Stauffer who was born October 16th, 1822. Shortly after their marriage they moved on their farm in Wilmot Township where he died October 24th, 1894, leaving a family of five children" Eby, Ezra E. (1895).
