    • Peter Reidel - By Record Correspondent - Preston, July 7 - A Preston resident for the past 55 years, Peter Reidel, 84, died in St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, early today. Suffering a stroke 10 days ago the deceased had been confined to hospital for the past five days. Mr. Reidel was born in St. Clements. Until his retirement 2-1/2 years ago, he was employed as a steel worker at the Eastern Steel Products, and formerly at the Metal Shingle, for 48 years. He was a member of St. Clement's RC Church, the Holy Name Society and the Catholic Order of Foresters.

      Surviving are his wife, the former Catherine Gies; two daughters, Mrs. Harold Kanamacher and Mrs. Joseph Rudolph, both of Preston; two sons, Harold Reidel of Preston and Frank Reidel of Hamilton; a sister, Mrs. Clara Fischer of Elmira, and a brother John Reidel of St. Clements. Twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive.

      The body is at the Stager-Pass Ltd., Funeral Home, from where the funeral will be held on Monday with requiem high mass at St. Clement's RC Church at 9 am. Interment will be in the RC Cemetery, Preston.
