• Notes

  In 1835, from Oensbach, Grand Duchy of Baden, between the Rhine and the Black Forest, Philip and Caroline Fischer and their children travelled to Canada. They settled first in the Dundas area, and then in Waterloo, Ontario. Their second child, Margaret Fischer, born in Germany in 1832, met and married Xavier Schuller and settled in St. Agatha. Margaret Schuller eventually became the grandmother of Johanna Strauss when her only daughter Mary, in 1886, married Anthony Strauss, and in 1891 gave birth to Johanna, subsequently Johanna Strauss Sehl..... Women of Waterloo County, edited by Ruth Russell _________________ Philip is reported to have been born in Waldulm, Ortenaukreis, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany, documentation needed.
