    • Mrs. Melvin Sherk, 1061 Queen's Blvd., died today at St. Mary's Hospital following a brief illness. She was 66. The former Mary Elizabeth (Bessie) Brown, she was born in Oxford County, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Brown. She had lived in Kitchener one year. Most of her life she spent at RR 3, Bright. She was a member of Knox Untied Church, Ayr. She formerly taught school in North Dumfries and Blenheim Townships. She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. John (Elizabeth) Kostuik of Willowdale, Mrs. Allen (Esther) Mitchell of RR 1, Ayr, and Mrs. William (Margaret) Makis of Ayr; four sons, Douglas, Raymond, William and James, all of Ayr; a brother, David Brown of RR 3, Bright, and 14 grandchildren. She was predeceased by one son and one sister. The body will be at Coutts and Son Funeral Home, Galt, after 7 p.m. Saturday where the funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. with Rev. D. E. Willis officiating. Burial will be in Ayr cemetery.
