      Mrs. Susanna Shantz

      Following a lengthy illness, Mrs. Susanna Shantz, 87, died at her home, 122 Locust St., early today. A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Groff, she was the last surviving member of her family. She was born Dec. 26, 1865. Her husband, the late Edmund Shantz, died Dec. 17, 1947. Mrs. Shantz attended Trinity United Church. Surviving is one son, Earl Shantz, Kitchener, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home where the funeral service will be held Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Interment will be made in First Mennonite Cemetery. Rev. O.P. Hossie will officiate [see April 24, 1953]

      Mrs. Susanna Shantz, who passed away at the home of her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Alson, 122 Locust St. Thursday, was predeceased by one daughter, Edna in 1936 and one son, Alson Shantz in 1951
