    • House built by David Shoemaker in 1860 in the late Classic Revival Style with three bay windows on each side. Built of white brick. Later owned by Dr. H. G. Lackner and was used as office and residence. Demolished by the Economical Insurance Company.

    • David M. Shoemaker, "was born September 28th, 1839. On August 7th, 1860, he was married to Jane Ann Hamacher. They reside on his father's old homestead. He has held the office of councilor for a number of years both in the township of Waterloo and also in the town of Berlin. They have a family of six children"
