  • Notes
    • William Sherriffs.

This is a new candidate for public patronage in the general mercantile line. About three or four weeks ago he left his father's farm near the village where he was born in 1873, to take charge of the store formerly kept by John Hodge. He is a son of Mr. Alexander Sheriffs, one of the prominent farmers of this vicinity. The son has had careful training and will no doubt succeed as a merchant. He has quite a large stock of general merchandise, and his store is also headquarters for the Great Western Telegraph Company and the Bell Telephone Company, and until lately it was occupied by the post-office.
