  Levi S. Martin, "the eldest son, was born June 21st, 1826. On October 15th, 1850, he was married to Maria, daughter of John and Barbara (Hoffman) Lichty. She was born October 7th, 1829. They reside in Woolwich Township, about three miles north of Waterloo where they possess a beautiful farm. They have a family of ten children". Eby, Ezra E. (1895).
