  • Notes
    • John Gingerich, "son of Joseph (Joseph was the youngest son of old Michael and probably 24 years younger than his brother Abraham) Gingerich, was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, March 12th, 1788. He came to Canada with others at an early date and spent a few weeks at Preston with his cousins before he settled on his farm. He was married to Anna, daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth (Histand) Hackman. She was born December 6th, 1788, and died November 21st, 1862. He died November 26th, 1831."

Eby, Ezra E. (1895). A biographical history of Waterloo township and other townships of the county: being a history of the early settlers and their descendants, mostly all of Pennsylvania Dutch origin: as also much other unpublished historical information chiefly of a local character. Berlin [Kitchener, Ont.]: [s.n.].

**John was incorrectly listed as the son of Joseph, but actually was the son of David Ginrich (b. 1857) & Anna Eschlman (b. 1761)
