Predeceased by: Laura Kipfer Ruby (first wife) and James (son). Funeral and burial: April 1, First Mennonite Church, by Brice Balmer and Rudy Baergen.

      RUBY, Ervin Jake\emdash At Fairview Mennonite Home, Cambridge, on Sunday, March 28, 1993, formerly living at 1414 King St. E.
      Ervin Jake Ruby, was 83 years of age, an active member of First Mennonite Church and a longterm employee of J.M. Schneider.
      He is survived by his wife, Irene (Fretz) Ruby; two daughters, Gloria Musselman and her husband Gerald of Cambridge and Carol Homes of London, Ont. and one son, Dale Ruby and his wife Susan of Hertfordshire, England. Four step-sons include Ronald Fretz and his wife Marlene of Kitchener, Marvin Fretz and his wife Betty of Listowel, Glenn Fretz and his wife Jan of Toronto and Douglas Fretz and his wife Karen of Pennsylvania. Grandfather of Karey Musselman Rivera and her husband Orlando of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Carolyn Musselman Wigboldus and her husband Ekke of Cambridge and Mark Musselman of Toronto, Alastair, James and Ben Ruby, all of England and Laurie Holmes of Corpus Christi, Tex. Grandfather to eight step-grandchildren, Nancy Ostermann and her husband Helmut, Allan Fretz and his wife Lynne and Bill Fretz, all of Kitchener, Sara, Gregory and Ana Fretz of Toronto, Jonathan and Michael Fretz of Pennsylvania; great-grandfather of Leanna Wigboldus of Cambridge and great-grandfather to four step-great-grandchildren, Benjamin Fretz, Elizabeth, Margaret and Catherine Ostermann, all of Kitchener. Also survived by one sister, Emmeline Bast of New Hamburg and several sisters-in-law.
      Predeceased by his first wife, Laura (Kipfer) Ruby; one son, James Ruby; his parents, Nicklas and Sarah (Brenneman) Ruby and his brothers, Nelson, Clayton (Ike) and Mahlon.
      Friends and relatives may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, this evening (Tuesday), 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At noon on Thursday transfer will be made to First Mennonite Church, 800 King St. E., Kitchener, for the funeral service at 2:30 p.m., followed by interment in the First Mennonite Cemetery.
      A reception will follow at the church.
      In his memory, donations would be welcomed to the Mennonite Central Committee and the Fairview Mennonite Home, Cambridge.
