    • Former Preston Man Passes Away In Galt

      GALT, June 20 - One of Galts oldest and best known men died Saturday night in the person of Martin Andrich, Dundas street, in his 86th year, He was born in Dieburg, Hessen, Germany, and came to Canada 77 years ago, spending the first three years in Preston, the family moving to Galt, where he had lived continuously for the past 74 years. For a great many years he operated a butcher shop in the basement of the town hall. He retired in 1906. Ile was married to Miss Rachel Roos, who survives, in Galt, on Aug. 25, 1868. They lived in the same house for 63 years. Besides his widow, he is survived by three sons and two daughters: Edward and William of Walkerville; Herbert of Detroit: Mrs. William Mickus and Mrs. Robert Elliott of Preston. There are 20 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
