- Oliver H. Hiller of 105 Brubacher St., died on Saturday at K-W Hospital. He was 70. Born in New Hamburg on May 11, 1897, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Hiller and came to Kitchener 45 years ago. Mr. Hiller was salesman for Reward Shoe stores and was formerly employed as a toolmaker at the rubber machinery shops until poor health due to war injuries forced him to retire. He was later employed by the R. Goldsworthy Co. He was a member of Benton Street Baptist Church and was a member of the Kitchener legion branch. Mr. Hiller enlisted with the 111th Battalion and served overseas in the First World War and was injured at Vimy Ridge in 1918. Surviving are is wife, the former Leonora Suckert whom he married Jan. 15, 1924; one son, Donald, Kitchener; two daughters, Mrs. David (Margaret) Hubert, Galt, and Mrs. Paul (Marian) Puncher, Waterloo; three brothers, Alvin, Kitchener; Edwin, New Hamburg, and Roy, Waterloo; one sister, Mrs. William (Mabel) Quandt, Plattsville and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by one son, Bruce, and one sister, Mrs. Delford (Alice) Honderich. They body is at the Sandrock Funeral Home where the service will be conducted on Wednesday at 2 p.m. by Rev. Fred Davison. Burial will be in Woodland cemetery. Donations to the building fund at Benton Street Baptist Church will be accepted as expressions of sympathy.

Oliver H. Hiller
A native of New Hamburg and a long-time resident of Kitchener, Oliver H. Hiller died December 2 in hospital in Kitchener, at the age of 70.
A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Hiller, he was born at New Hamburg May 11, 1897, and moved to Kitchener about 45 years ago.
He was employed by Reward Shoe stores as a salesman, but was forced to retire due to war injuries. Later he was employed by the R. Goldsworthy Co.
The late Mr, Hiller was a member of Benton Street Baptist Church, and a member of the Kitchener Legion branch. He enlisted with the 111th Battalion and served overseas in the First World War, and was injured at Vimy Ridge in 1918.
