Notes |
- Looking for Ephraim WILLSON born 1793, his wife, a daughter Amy WILLSON born 1818, and a son Ephraim Jr. born 1819. The children where all born in Yorkshire. They arrived in Canada around 1829 and settled in Waterloo Twsp. Ont. The family farm came to be called Hemlock Grove Farms. It was located in the German Tract settlement.
Ephraim Sr. married 3 times. His first wife, unknown name, died about 1833 shortly after the family arrived in Canada; his second wife Elizabeth GOFTON he married 5 October 1835; he married his third wife Margaret McCLOY after his second wife's death in 1853.
Amy WILLSON married a John BRIGHTON. Many of the BRIGHTON's in Waterloo County are their descendants.
Ephraim Willson Jr. married Catherine O'BRIEN on 22 October 1844. Later in about 1867 Ephraim Jr. and his family left Waterloo Twsp. and moved to Plympton twsp. Lambton Co. Ont. where alot of my branch of the family has been ever since. Many in Ephraim Jr.'s branch of the family had one of the "L"s dropped hence the last name became WILSON. Does anyone recognize this family?
