John Michelson Esbaugh was born October 23, 1855, in Cleminens, Waterloo county, Canada; married Mary Ann Gibson August 6, 1880. To this union were born five sons and one daughter. The wife, daughter and three sons live to mourn their loss. Many say "that no man will be more missed in business circles than he." He was highly respected and honored by fraternal societies. He was converted and joined the Methodist Episcopal church January 20, 1904. His church life was full of fidelity to Christianity. He died in the faith of the gospel at Grenola, January 8, 1908. His funeral was held at his home January 11. 1908 at 11 o'clock.

Mr. Clements Esbaugh

ST. CLEMENTS-Mr. Clements Esbaugh, life-long resident of the community passed away at the home of his daughter and son-in law, Mr. and Mrs. Simeon Bender on Thursday night, May 6th, after a long and serious illness. He was 84 years of age and a member of the St. Clements R.C. Church and of the Holy Name Society. His wife, the former Agatha Dietrich, predeceased him about four years ago.

Mr. Esbaugh is survived by three sons, Sgt. Leo of Montieth, Ont., Albert and Edwin of St. Clements and three daughters, Mrs. Simeon Bender, Mrs. Robert Forwell and Mrs. Peter Kuntz all of St. Clements, one brother, Fred of Grand Rapids, Mich., thirty-eight grand children and seventeen great grandchildren. ST. AGATHA-Henry (Harry) Herrle, RR 1, St. Agatha, died Sunday at the K-W Hospital, Kitchener, after a lengthy illness. He was 84.

A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Herrle he was born Aug.6, 1883, on a farm near St. Agatha where he lived for his entire lifetime. He was a member of Zion Lutheran church, St. Agatha.

Surviving are three brothers, Frank of Edmonton, Walter of St. Agatha and Raymond of Waterloo, and one sister Mrs. Conrad (Della) Rueffer, Kitchener.

The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home where service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. Rev. Ernest Felker, minister of Zion Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran cemetery. Offerings to the building fund of Zion Luther Church will be ....

Mr. Herrle was born in Wilmot township and was a son of the late Matilda Esbaugh and Henry Herrle.

He farmed all of his life at RR 1, St. Agatha, was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, St. Agatha and a former member of the church board.

Predeceased by his wife, the former Martha Conrad, April 10, 1979. Survived by one son, Howard and his wife Elsie of RR 1, St. Agatha; three grandchildren, Karen, James and Joanne Herrle and one sister, Mrs. Della Rueffer of Cambridge and recently of Waterloo.

Mr. Herrle's family will receive friends at the Edward R. Good funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, from 7-9 p.m. this evening and 2-4: 30 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday. At 1 p.m. on Saturday, removal will be made to Zion Lutheran Church, St. Agatha, for the funeral and committal service at 3 p.m., with Dr. Henry W. Opperman officiating. Spring interment to follow in the adjoining church cemetery.

MAXWELL, Helen Caroline (nee Esbaugh) 1918 - 2018 Helen passed away peacefully at Lanark Heights LTC on Thursday, March 1, 2018, at the age of 99 (2 months short of her 100th birthday). Loving wife of the late Raymond Maxwell (1951). Auntie Helen was cherished by four generations of nieces and nephews in Canada and the United States. Dear godmother of Patrick Cummings, Debbie Humphries and Donald Schell. She was born May 1, 1918 to Louis and Pauline (nee Freiburger) Esbaugh and was raised on the farm in Bamberg, Wellesley Township. Helen was predeceased by her six sisters Irene, Priscilla (Bessie), Apolonia (Abbie), Bertha, Doreen and Edna and four brothers Joseph, John, Alvin and Anthony. Helen's greatest love was her family, she held strong family values and was "Auntie" to everyone. She worked hard on the farm and at Merchant's Rubber, had a deep faith, a love for travel and made many friends along the way. At Helen's request Cremation has taken place. Predeceased by her parents Robert and Laura (Esbaugh), sister Caroline, brothers Clement, Albert, Lloyd, Paschal and John. Lovingly remembered by her Sisters in community, her sister Della Voisin (Harold) and brothers Harold, Robert (Lois), Anthony (Joan), sisters-in-law Dorothy, Jean and Etta and devoted nieces and nephews. Sister Colette was born in St. Clements, ON. Following graduation from Hamilton Teacher's College, she taught in the grade school at Notre Dame Convent, Waterdown. Later, she returned to Waterdown as principal of St. Thomas School. Sister Colette, also, taught in Mildmay, Hamilton, Kitchener, Chepstow, Newmarket and Hanover. She was principal at St. Ambrose School, Cambridge and St. Mary's School, Oakville. Sister Colette was a dedicated educator. After retiring from the classroom, she spent 17 years tutoring at the Hamilton-Wentworth Detention Centre. Then, she continued using her gifts as a volunteer at Information Flamborough, Flamborough Food Bank and for eight years at Cama Woodlands Nursing Home. Visitors will be received at Notre Dame Convent, Waterdown on Monday, February 21 (today) from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Rosary will be prayed in the chapel at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. KRAEMER, Rosemary (nee Esbaugh) - Rosemary passed away peacefully, at Lisaard House with her family by her side, on Thursday, February 23, 2006, at the age of 69. Mom stoically endured a lengthy but courageous battle with lung cancer. Beloved wife for 43 years of the late Lloyd Kraemer (1999). She will be sadly missed by her five girls and their families. Rosemary will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Our Mom and Nana thoroughly enjoyed cheering on her family at many baseball, hockey, soccer, basketball games and dance recitals. Go Leafs Go! Mom retired from NCR Waterloo after 26 years of dedicated service where she developed many lasting friendships. Rosemary enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, playing cards, bingo and especially spending time with family and friends. Mom truly enjoyed the violin, accordion, guitar and singing provided by her brother-in-law Bob, sister Marcy and daughter Venetta. She recently enjoyed one last "concert" at Lisaard House where she tapped her foot in keeping time with the beautiful music. A heartfelt thank you is extended to all the staff and friends at Lisaard House as well as Dr. M. Casey, Dr. D. Ward and Dr. D. Reinhardt for their kindness and compassion during her illness. It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our Mom, Grandma & Great Grandma. Marcy passed away peacefully at Freeport Health Centre on Thursday, November 3, 2011 after a courageous second battle with cancer. Beloved wife of the late Laverne Kellogg who in 1985 succumbed to the same deadly cancer.

Loving & treasured mother of Beverly and Gordon Reid, Tammy Kellogg, Bonnie Kellogg and Terry and John Kerr.
Sadly missed by grandchildren Nathan Reid, Brad and CJ Kerr and great grandchild, Brent Kerr.

Mom worked numerous jobs before retiring from Zehrs Glenridge after 17 years as a dedicated employee who made many friendships with co-workers and customers. Mom was known for her accordian playing which was self taught - never read a note.
Mom will always be remembered for her warm smile and kind nature. She persevered no matter what life dealt her. She was a strong woman and we will never forget her. We hope now that Mom and Dad are finally together again and at peace. We will forever miss and love you both.

A special thank you goes out to the doctors, nurses and staff at Freeport Health Centre for their kindness and compassion during moms illness.

Marcy's family will receive relatives and friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener (519-749-8467) on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Level Crossing Crash Takes Three Lives

A west-bound Grand River Railway freight train of 15 cars struck an automobile at a level crossing near the Freeport Sanatorium Sunday afternoon.

Simon Bender, 62, and his wife 59, of St. Clements, were killed when the car was struck, and Lucy Kuntz, 13, died soon after being
taken to hospital. The car itself was carried 500 ft. by the train. Mrs. Peter Kuntz, a sister of Mrs. Bender, Mrs. Michael Prokopowicz, daughter of Mrs. Kuntz and driver of the vehicle, were injured.

Born May 27, 1913, in Kitchener, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius C. Brenner and lived in Kitchener all his life. Mr. Brenner had been employed with Doon Twines Ltd. for more than 40 years.

He was a member of St. Aloysius RC Church, the Father Funcken's Council of the Knights of Columbus, the Catholic Council for Men and the Canadian Industrial Management Association.

Surviving are his wife, the former Therese Miehm whom he married in Kitchener in 1941; one son, Philip C., at home; three daughters, Mrs. Paul (Cynthia) Gole, Mrs. David (Louise) Lane, both of Kitchener, and Kathryn at home; three brothers, Carl of Kitchener, Oliver of Petersburg and Jack of Waterloo; and five sisters, Alice of Kitchener, Mrs. Bernard (Helen) Thorpe of Maryhill, Mrs. Lloyd (Mary) Kropf and Mrs. Joseph (Norma) Messner, both of Kitchener, and Mrs. Carl (Mariene) Solomon of Montreal.
