    ELMIRA, Oct. 20.- Following lingering illness, Mrs. Lydia Norman, 61, Elmira, died at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener yesterday afternoon.
    Born in Hawkesville, the deceased had lived in Elmira for the past 30 years.

    Surviving are two sons, E. H. Norman, of Elmira and Irvin, of Kitchener, two daughters, Mrs. R. Melitzer of West Montrose, and Mrs. Harry Holtze, Bridgeport. Her husband predeceased her in 1926.

    Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock from Dreisinger's funeral chapel to Elmira Union Cemetery for interment.

    HOLTZE, Muriel - On Sunday, May 25, 1997, at St. Mary's Hospital, Muriel (Norman) Holtze, in her 91st year, of RR 2, West Montrose.

    Wife of the late Harry Holtze. Loving mother of Jack Holtze of Guelph and Marjorie Schweitzer of RR 2, West Montrose. Fondly remembered by her seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

    Predeceased by her parents, William and Lydia Norman; two sons, Ralph and Herbert; two brothers and one sister.

    Muriel was a member of the Elmira congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

    There will be no funeral home visitation. Private interment in Elmira Union Cemetery. A memorial service for family and friends will be held from the Elmira Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 106 Barnswallow Drive, Elmira, on Wednesday, May 28 at 2 pm. Arrangements entrusted t the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira.

    For those who don't know of Moe Norman, he's a difficult man to describe.

    "If I had to compare him to other characters in movies, I would say Rocky meets Forrest Gump meets Moe Norman," said producer David Carver, who has a $15 million budget to put together a movie based on the life of Moe Norman, which will be shopped to directors in the coming weeks.

    "His sports career was a misunderstanding. He could do things in golf, purely out of the love of the game, that others wished they could do."

    Even more accurate is another description - an "unknown legend."

    "I know that's kind of an oxymoron, but it's true," said Carver.

    Moe Norman, who died in 2004 of congestive heart faulure, is known as the best ball striker of all time, but his time in the limelight was limited.

    Growing up in Kitchener, a childhood accident and undiagnosed head injury led to autistic savant syndrome. Soon after, Norman became obsessed with everything relating to golf. He knew the sport in and out.

    His skill set led to a brief appearance on the PGA Tour, but his unorthodox behaviour and appearance stuck out \emdash especially in the proper nature of golf in the 1950s.....

    Herbert H. Holtze, 33, of RR 2. Waterloo (Bloomingdale), died suddenly Sunday at the K-W Hospital. Mr. Holtze suffered a heart seizure.

    He was born March 13, 1924, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Holtze, the former Muriel Norman. He served overseas in the Second World War and was a church member of the Lutheran church. Surviving are his wife, the former Marian Gregory; two brothers, Ralph of Parkway and Jack of Calgary; one sister, Mrs. Gordon (Marjorie) Schweitzer of Winterbourne.

    Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Schreiter Sandrock Funeral, Home by Rev. H. B. Wideman. Burial will be in Woodland Cem
