Brubaker.-Amos S., son of Abram and Lash (Sitler) Brubaker, was born in Cashmere, Ont., June 13, 1862; died at Sheridan, Oreg., Feb. 15, 1939; aged 76 y. 8 m. 2 d. When 17 years of age he went to Northern Michigan, where he spent a number of years as a pioneer of that country. While there he and Mary Ann Dettwiler were united in marriage. This union was blessed with 2 sons and 7 daughters. Soon after their marriage they united with the Mennonite Church and were faithful until death. He became an interested and faithful worker in the Sunday school there. In the spring of 1901 he with his wife and 9 children moved to Alberta, where he was also a pioneer. At the place where he settled he started a post office and store, which became known as Mayton. It was through his efforts that a church was established at this place. In the spring of 1924 they moved to Sheridan, Oreg., where he resided till death. His loving companion preceded him in death 7 years. One son and 2 daughters, also 6 grandchildren preceded him. He leaves 6 children Leah (Mrs. Ed. Wideman) with whom he had his home nearly four years, Amos H., Ettie Mae (Mrs. Sam Ringler), and Barbara Bruba-ker all of Sheridan, Sarah (Mrs. Wm. Brubaman), and Velina (Mrs. Henry Casebeer), of Alberta; also 4 brothers, 2 sisters, 49 grandchildren, and 42 great-grandchildren, besides many other relatives and friends. He was physically weakened by two strokes in the fall and winter of 1934. He had another stroke this winter, which with complications of old age was the cause of his death. He was confined to his bed 2 _ months. He was always very much interested in advancing the cause of Christ and the Church, and his presence and help will he greatly missed. His place was seldom vacant in the house of worship. Funeral services were held in the Sheridan Mennonite Church, conducted by Bro. G. D. Shenk assisted by Bros. A. H. Kilmer and D. F. Shenk. Text, Jas. 4: 14. Interment in the South Yamhill Baptist Cemetery.

Mrs. Mary Ann Frey, 91 of RR1, St. Jacobs died Friday May 17, after a long illness.

She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs Abraham Brubacher. Her first husband, Elias B, Martin, died in 1940. Her second husband John S. Frey, died in 1946.

Surviving are three sons, Abraham of Columbiana, Ohio; Simon of Manetville and Amos of Doon; three daughters, Mrs. Josiah (Nancy) Weber of RR 1, St. Jacobs; Mrs. Aaron (Lovina) Frey of RR1, St. Jacobs, and MRs. Cyrus (Solome) Bowman of RR3, Elmira; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Leah Martin, RR1, St. Jacobs; one brother, Aaron of Oregon; 31 grandchildren, 114 great-grandchildren and 11 stepchildren. One son, Aaron, six brothers and four sisters predeceased her.

The body was at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Aaron Frey, for services Monday, then at Conestogo Mennonite meeting house for a further service. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.

ST. JACOBS-Mrs. Elizabeth Brubacher, 80, widow of the late Menno B. Brubacher, died Thurs day at her home, RR 1, Waterloo, after a short illness.

She was born near Bothwell, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Brubacher. Her husband died in 1952.

Mrs. Brubacher was a member of St. Jacobs Mennonite Church. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Leah Bender of Waterloo; Lydia Ann, Annie and Elizabeth, all at home; one sister, Mrs. Mary Ann Frey of St. Jacobs; one brother, Aaron S. Brubacher of Mountain Home, Idaho, and two grandchildren and six great grandchildren. One daughter died in infancy.

The body is at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira, until Sunday at 10 a.m. when removal will be made to the home for service at 2 p.m., thence to St. Jacobs Mennonite Church for memorial service.

Interment will be in Conestogo Mennonite Cemetery. Rev. Roy S. Koch and Rev., Noah S. Hansberger will officiate. The family requests that flowers be omitted

Wideman, Leah D., daughter of Amos H. and Mary Ann Brubaker, was born near Brutus, Mich., Aug. 20, 1884; passed away at her home in Sheridan, Oreg., Sept. 8, 1956, after an illness of about 7 months; aged 72 y. 19 d. Near the turn of the century, she with her parents, was among the pioneers who moved to the prairies of Alberta, Can. During her girlhood she was converted in evangelistic services conducted by the late Bro. S. F. Coffman. In 1902 she was united in marriage with Edwin H. Wideman, who survives. They spent a number of years on a homestead near Mayton, Alta., and in 1924 moved to Sheridan, Oreg., where she resided until death. To this union were born 2 sons and 6 daughters (Rachel-Mrs. Wesley Ellis, Mary-Mrs. Dan Lauber, Oscar, Anne-Mrs. Willard Byers, Lena-Mrs. Amos Hostetler, Ethel, and Irene, all of Sheridan, Oreg., and Walter, of Grants Pass, Oreg.). Also surviving are 19 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 4 sisters, one brother, and a host of other relatives and friends. Two sisters, one brother, and 3 grandchildren preceded her in death. On the death of her brother Joseph, she filled a mother's place in the life of his children. Funeral services were held at the Sheridan Mennonite Church, Sept.11, in charge of D. F. Shenk, Raymond Mishler, and G. D. Shenk, with interment in the Sheridan Mennonite Cemetery.

AARON B. MARTIN

Aaron B. Martin died Wednesday morning at 9:30 at his home near Three Bridges. He had been ill for several years.

He was the son of Mrs. John Frey of north of St. Jacobs and of the late Elias B. Martin. He is survived by his wife and six children, all of whom are at home. They are Allan, Melvin, Abner, Simon, Maryann and Esther. The oldest is 17 and the youngest five years of age, Three brothers also survive and three sisters. They are Abraham of Columbiano, Ohio, Rev. Simon Martin of Strasburg, Amos of Preston, Mrs. Joshia Weber of Heidelberg, Mrs. Aaron Frey of St. Jacobs and Mrs. Syrus Bowman of Elmira.

The funeral was held on Friday at 9:00 a.m. from his home to the Three Bridges Mennonite Church. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery.

ST. JACOBS-Annie Brubacher, 58, of RR 1, Waterloo, died today at her home near Three Bridges. She had been ill for several months.
Miss Brubacher was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Menno B. Brubacher. She was born Aug. 14, 1903, in Woolwich Township. Miss Brubacher was a member of Heidelberg Mennonite Church.

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Leah Bender of Waterloo, Lydia Ann and Elizabeth, both at home. The body will be at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira, until Sunday at 10a.m. when removal will be made to the home for the funeral at 2:30 p.m. A further service will be
conducted at the Conestogo Mennonite Meeting House at Three Bridges. Burial will be made in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. Moses Roth of New Hamburg will officiate.
