Death came very suddenly to Mrs, Samuel Luckhardt at her home on Jacob Street on Wednesday. She was strickened with apoplexy about four o'clock in the afternoon and passed away at seven o'clock without regaining consciousness. The late Mrs. Luckhardt, whose maiden name was Annie Wilhelm, was born in Wilmot 61 years ago, a daughter of the late Jacob Wilhelm, who died in town here in 1914. She was married thirty-five years ago to her now bereaved husband and for many years resided on a farm in North Easthope. Thirteen years ago they moved onto the farm of the late Joseph M. Bender, adjoining this village, and last spring Mr. and Mrs. Luckhardt retired to New Hamburg. The deceased was a faithful adherent of the Baptist church and was highly esteemed by all. She leaves her sorrowing husband, two sons and two daughters to mourn her passing. The children are Lorne and Nelson, of Wilmot, Pearl (Mrs Earl Hesse), Gravel Road, anti Vivian at home. The funeral will be held on Saturday afternoon ht 2.80 o'clock to the Baptist church and Riverside Cemetery. The bereaved family have the sympathy of their many friends in their bereavement,

Luckhardt, Lorne - At K-W Hospital on Tuesday, Nov. 23, after a lengthy illness, age 80 years, Lorne Luckhardt, a resident of the area for the past 32 years and a self-employed farmer. Son of the late Samuel Luckhardt and the former Annie Wilhelm. Predeceased by his first wife, the former Eva Kennel, and his second wife the former Ellen Herchenrader. Surviving are four sons, Wilfred MacKenzie, of Waterloo, Edward McKenzie of Kitchener, Stuart Luckhardt, of Owen Sound, and Ralph Luckhardt, of RR 1, Breslau, two daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Armstrong, of Conestogo, and Mae (Mrs. Ernest D. Martin) of RR 2 Breslau. Also survived by 34 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by one daughter; three sisters, Pearl, Margaret, and Vivian, one brother, Nelson. Visitation at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home, 51 Benton St., Kitchener, after 7 pm, Tuesday. Funeral serice at the funeral home on Thursday, Nov. 25, at 2 pm, Rev. Gerhardt Becker of Shantz Station Lutheran Church officiating. Interment to follow in Riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg.

At her late residence, 247 Franklin, St., N., Kitchener, on Wednesday, November 17, 1970, after a lengthy illness, age 72 years, Vivian Luckhardt. Born in New Hamburg, a resident of Kitchener for the past 12 years. Daughter of the late Samuel Luckhardt and the former Annie Wilhelm. Surviving is one brother, Lorne, of Route 2, Breslau and a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two sisters, Pearl and Margaret and one brother, Nelson. Visitation at the Schrelter-Sandrock Funeral Home, 51 Benton St., Kitchener after 5 p.m., today. Funeral service and committal will be held on Friday, November 19 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Riverside cemetery, New Hamburg, Rev. Arthur McDowell of Highland Road Baptist Church, officiating.

Former Resident's Two Sons Drowned

Murray Hesse. 8. and his five year-old brother. Stacey, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Hesse of Hamilton, formerly of New Hamburg. were drowned August 22 at Wanamaker Lake. Bancroft. Mr, Hesse's father. Earl, is now a resident of Kitchener.

According to Provincial Police, the two boys, along with their six-year-old brother. Rodney, were playing on a rock in the lake near the shore Tuesday morning when Stacey fell into the water His brother Murray jumped in alter the young lad and both drowned.

Several neighbours jumped in to try to save the boys when Rodney ran to them for help. Later, police recovered the bodies in water which was 12 to 16 feet in depth.

The boys are survived by their parents, sisters Dianne and .Joanne and brothers Rodney and Daniel A grandmother. Mrs Rhea Robillard. lives in Brantford.

The funeral service was held Friday afternoon, followed by burial in Mount Hamilton cemetery.
