    JACOB HEIMPEL PASSES AT LOCAL HOSPITAL

    The death occurred yesterday afternoon of Jacob Heimpel, of Erbsville, at the Kitchener and Waterloo Hospital where he had been seriously ill for nearly three weeks. Mr. Heimpel was in his 64th year and was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran church, Erbsville and was one of its most faithful attendants.

    He leaves to mourn a wife and two sons and two daughters, as follows: Angus of Heidelberg, Alvin at home, Melinda (Mrs. Philip Conrad) Erbsville and Kate at home.

    The funeral will take place Sunday morning at 9:30 from his late residence in Erbsville to St. Peter's Lutheran church for service and interment at the Erbsville cemetery.

    Mr. Heimpel was well known in Waterloo and the surrounding countryside. His jovial good nature winning many friends for him, for he always had a smile and it was said of him that he could laugh more than any other man in the surrounding country.

    JACOB HEIMPEL

    A well known resident of Erbsville in the person of Mr Jacob Heimpel, passed away at the K. and W. Hospital on Wednesday, March 7. in his 64th year, after an illness of three weeks. Deceased was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church at Erbsville and will be missed by his many friends among whom he was quite popular.

    A sorrowing wife, two sons and two daughters survive namely, Angus of Heidelberg, Alvin at home, Melinda (Mrs. Philip Conrad) of Erbsville and Catharine at home.

    The funeral took place from the late residence on Sunday morning at 9.30 o'clock to St. Peter's Lutheran Church for service thence to the Erbsville cemetery for interment.

    WELLESLEY. - Henry Heimpel, 81, of Wellesley, died Tuesday at the home of his son-in-law, Clayton Miller. He was born in Heidelberg but lived for 23 years in Baden, moving to Wellesley in June of this year. He was a carpenter by trade. His wife, nee Margaret Huehn, predeceased him four years ago.

    Surviving are one son, Oscar, of Kitchener, and one daughter, Mrs. Miller of Wellesley, two brothers, Conrad and Anthony of Waterloo.
    A public funeral service will be held from the Futher Funeral Home, Wellesley, at 2 p.m. Friday and thence to St James' Lutheran Church, Baden. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery, Baden. Rev. Mr. Friedrichsen will officiate.

    VALENTINE HEIMPEL

    The death of Valentine Heimpel, 74, occurred yesterday afternoon at his home, 87 Church street, after an liness of two weeks. Mr. Heimgel, who formerly farmed in the St. Clements district, resided in Waterloo and later in Kitchener for the past eight years.

    Surviving are one son. Norman of Kitchener, two grandchildren, three brothers. Anton and Conrad of Waterloo and Henry of Baden, and one sister, Miss Kate Heimpel of Waterloo.

    The funeral will be held from the Letter and Dreisinger Funeral Home. Waterloo, on Saturday at 2 pm, followed by services at Heidelberg Lutheran church at 245 p.m. Interment will take place in the Heidelberg Cemetery. Rev. Karl Knauff will officiate.

    Well Known Resident Predeceased by Wife Two Months Ago.


    Mr. George Heimpel, a well known and highly esteemed resident of this community passed away at his home Monday evening at seven o'clock. He was in his seventy-first year. Although the late Mr. Heimpel had been ill for several years death came quite suddenly at the end, the result of a heart attack.

    There survive two daughters, Edith (Mrs. John Bowman) of New Hamburg, Minnie (Mrs. Wm. H. Egerdee) of New Dundee, four sons, Louis Heimpel, of MacDonald College, Quebec, Gordon and Edward of Windsor, Wellington at home, two step-sons, Irvin Stoltz of near Waterloo, Oliver Stoltz of near Plattsville, and one step-daughter, Ennetta (Mrs. Bert Maim) of Glenboro, Man. Also surviving are four brothers, Henry Heimpel of Baden, Valentine, Conrad and Anton of Waterloo, and one sister, Miss Katie Heimpel, near Heidelberg, 28 grand-children and two great-grand-children.

    Mr. Heimpel's wife predeceased him only two months ago. The funeral will be held on Friday at two o'clock from his residence to Mannheim Lutheran Church for service. Interment will take place in the adjoining cemetery with Rev. Wm. Nolting in charge of the services.

    MISS CATHERINE HEIMPEL

    Miss Catherine Heimpel, 71, who has resided with her sister-in-law, Mrs. William Heimpel. 31 Noecker street, Waterloo, for the past year and a half, died Saturday evening. She had been ill for about four months. Deceased, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Heimpel, was born near Heidelberg, where she resided all her life until one and one-half years ago when, with Mrs. Heimpel, she moved to Waterloo. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran church, Heidelberg.

    Surviving are three brothers, Henry Heimpel, Baden, Conrad and Anton Heimpel of Waterloo.

    The funeral will be held from the residence tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock, to Heidelberg Lutheran church for service at 2.30. Interment will take place in the Erbsville cemetery. Rev. Karl Knauff will be in charge of the services.

    Mrs. Catherine Heimpel

    The funeral was held Tuesday of Miss Catherine Heimpel, 71, who has resided with her sister-in-law, Mrs. William Heimpel, Noecker St., for the past year and a half. Deceased who had been ill for about four months, was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Heimpel and was born near Heidelberg. She had resided there all her life until coming to Waterloo.

    Surviving are three brothers, Henry Heimpel, Baden, Conrad and Anton Heimpel of Waterloo.

    The death of William Helmpel occurred at his late residence, Heidelberg last evening in his 51st year after an illness of about two weeks. He was born in Heidelberg and lived all his life on the homestead. Mr. Helmpel was a member of the Heidelberg Lutheran church, having been on the board of trustees for the past three years. He is survived by his wife, two sons and one daughter, William, Addison and Marie, all at home, five brothers and one sister, Henry Heimpel of Baden, George of Mannheim, Anthony of Waterloo, Conrad of Erbsville, Valentine of Bamberg and Kate Heimpel of Heidelberg. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 1.30 from the residence to Heidelberg Lutheran church for service. Interment will be made at the Erbsville Lutheran cemetery.

    Heidelberg - Angus Heimpel, 74, of Heidelberg, died in K-W Hospital Friday after a brief illness. Mr. Heimpel farmed at RR 1, Bamberg, for 42 years until he moved to Heidelberg eight years ago.

    He was born Nov. 30, 1893, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Heimpel of Wellesley Township.

    Surviving besides his wife, the former Minerva Jacobi, are a son Walter of RR 1, Bamberg, a daughter Mrs. Helen Shippanowski of Waterloo, a brother Alvin of Erbsville and nine grandchildren. Two sisters predeceased him.

    The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, Kitchener. Service will be conducted Monday at 3 pm by Rev. Arthur Horst at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Heidelberg, where Mr. Heimpel was a member. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

    WELLESLEY\emdash Mrs. George Dietz, 61, of Wellesley, died suddenly Saturday at K-W Hospital after surgery. She had been ill for some time.

    She was the former Catharine Heimpel and was born in Wellesley Township Sept. 29, 1902, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Heimpel.
    She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Wellesley.

    Surviving are her husband, whom she married in 1930 in Kitchener; two brothers, Alvin of RR 3, Waterloo and Angus of Heidelberg. One sister predeceased her.

    The body will be at the Futher Brothers Funeral Home, Wellesley, until noon Tuesday when removal will be made to St. Paul's Church where the funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. by Rev. Ronald Reisdorf. Temporary entombment in St. Paul's Cemetery Chapel will be followed by burial in the church cemetery.

    ALLEN HEIMPEL VICTIM OF GAS POISONING

    A victim of gas poisoning and heart seizure, Allan Heimpel, owner of a garage at Five Points, Lancaster St. E., Kitchener, passed away at the St. Mary's Hospital on Thursday, Jan. 8th, in his 44th year. Mr. Heimpel had been in ill health for some time, suffering from monoxide poisoning through the constant working around motor cars with motor running.

    The funeral was held on Tuesday with service conducted by Christian Science Church officials. The remains rested at Ratz & Bechtel Funeral Home until Saturday.

    The late Allen Heimpel was born in Wellesley, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Heimpel, now of Baden.

    There survive his parents, wife, four sons and four daughters, Margaret, Mrs. Fred MacLeod, Allen, Eugena, Gertrude, Wilfred, Dora, Goldwin and Walter at home; also one brother, Oscar Heimpel, Kitch- ener, and one sister, Mrs, Clayton Miller, Baden.

    Struck down by a runaway milk-wagon horse on July 24, Norman Heimpel, 56, of 200 Benton St., died of injuries today in Toronto General Hospital.

    The horse, in its headlong flight through the city, bowled Mr. Heimpel over at King and Victoria Streets, and the wagon wheels passed over him.

    Suffered Skull Fracture

    He was admitted to hospital suffering a skull fracture and face cuts.

    In that same dash, the bolting horse fled from the corner of King and Mt. Hope Streets and clipped three cars as well as striking Mr. Heimpel before coming to a halt.

    Born Dec, 21, 1893, at Hesson Road, Mr. Heimpel was a son of the late Valentine Heimpel and the former Elizabeth Heinrich.

    He was employed at Merchants Rubber factory here. He attended St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. Family Survives Besides his wife, the former Elma Huehn, whom he married at Heidelberg on Feb. 24„1914, he Is survived by one son, Oliver of Kitchener; and one daughter, Mrs. Alex (Elsie) Fehrenbach, also of Kitchener; and one granddaughter.

    Private funeral service for the relatives will be held Monday, 1:45 p.m., at the Schreiter Sand-rock Funeral Home with public service in St. Matthew's Lutheran Church at 2 p.m., with Rev. Dr. H. T. Lehmann officiating. Burial will be in Heidelberg Cemetery. The body is resting at the funeral home.

    Injuries By Horse Prove Fatal To Man

    Norman Heimpel, 56, of 200 Benton St., Kitchener, died of injuries late last week, which he received last July 24, from a run- away horse. He was in Toronto General hospital since the accident, suffering from skull fracture and face cuts.

    The horse, drawing a milk wagon bolted from King and Mt. Hope Streets, clipping three cars, and running down Heimpel, before stopping. Surviving are his wife, the former Elma Hueuhn of Heidelberg: a son Oliver of Kitchener; a daughter, Mrs. Alex (Elsie) Fehrenbach, Kitchener, and one grand- daughter.

    MARIE K. HEIMPEL 1914 - 2006

    After a long and full life, Marie died, on Tuesday, September 12, 2006, at Columbia Forest Long Term Care Centre in Waterloo. She was 91.

    She is survived by her loving niece Marilyn Ogram and her husband Bruce of Elmira and their family.

    She was the last surviving member of her family. She was predeceased by three brothers; Bill and his wife Edna, Addison and his wife Dorothy, one in infancy and her parents, Salome (Schmitt) and William Heimpel.

    Marie was a longtime and faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Waterloo and the ELW. For many years, she worked as a hairdresser at Zarnke Hair Salon in Kitchener and then was self employed. Marie loved to travel to many destinations around the world with her friends and relatives.

    Friends are invited to share their memories of Marie with her family at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, today (Thursday) from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The service to celebrate Marie's life and faith will be held at in (sic) the chapel of St. John's Lutheran Church, on Friday, September 15, 2006, at 1 p.m., with Rev. Val Henning officiating. Immediately following the service, friends and relatives are invited to remain at the church for refreshments and a time to visit. Interment will follow in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Erbsville.

    The family announces with sadness Walter's passing on Monday at the age of 88 years. He entered his eternal rest peacefully and comfortable at Leisureworld Caregiving Centre, Elmira.     Rev. Lloyd Schaus officiated Saturday in St. Mark's Lutheran Church when Miss Bernice Clara Heimpel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar H. Heimpel, 507 Park St., became the bride of Mr. Donald Ross Ryan. The bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ryan, 65 Weber St. East.

    The bride was wearing a graceful floor-length gown of brocaded white satin with softly-rounded neckline enhanced with pearls, a fitted bodice scalloped at the waist and a full skirt finished at the hemline with a bias ruffle. She carried a cascade of yellow rosebuds.

    Her attendant was Miss Noreen Miller. She chose a turquoise taffeta floor-length gown and her cascade was of talisman roses.

    Best man was Mr. Ted Ryan of London.

    The Hacienda, Waterloo, was the scene of the wedding dinner and later a reception was held at the bride's home. Receiving guests with the newlyweds, the bride's mother wore a gray jersey street-length dress, black straw hat with pink floral trim and a corsage of yellow roses. Assisting was the bride- groom's mother, in a pink picture hat and corsage of pink and white carnationas.

    Leaving for Grand Bend, the bride wore a shell pink dressmaker suit with white accessories. Her white straw bonnet style hat was trimmed with pink flowers. On their return, Mr. and Mrs. Ryan will reside at 383 Victoria St.

    Marlene retired after 37 years of underwriting service with Manulife. She took great pleasure with family and became the matriarch to us all. Marlene was our go-to-person with all the family news. We will miss her patient and loving presence in our lives.

    Marlene's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. on Friday May 15th at Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, ON N2G 1C7.     Brian passed away peacefully at the West Parry Sound Health Centre, on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at the age of 74 years.

    Beloved husband to Patricia. Loving father to Jeff, Tim and Ashley. Grandfather to Jaimey, Braden and Katelyn. Brother to Keith (Helen) Heimpel, Carol (Eddie, deceased) Weidinger and Bev (Ron) Roeder. Brother-in-law to Preston Hammond and Linda (Gerry) Roeder. Uncle to many nieces and nephews.     Brian and Patricia lived in Parry Sound over the last 8 years following Brian's retirement where they enjoyed sitting on the patio overlooking Georgian Bay. The last few years, Brian had a hard time getting around, but prior to that, he enjoyed fishing, watching sports and walking their dog, Buddy. Prior to living in Parry Sound, Brian spent his life in Waterloo. He retired from Cooper Standard Automotive in Georgetown as Controller, where he spent the majority of his career. Prior to that, Brian worked in accounting at the former Labatt's brewery in Waterloo, playing on the company's baseball team. Brian was a member of the Lakeshore Optimist Club. He also rarely missed his children's baseball games and could often be seen cheering them on in the stands.

    Brian is known for being a kind, generous and thoughtful man, father, husband, grandfather, brother, son and uncle. Upon hearing of Brian's death, these are the words most commonly used to describe him.

    Special thanks to the wonderful doctors and nurses who cared for Brian. Specifically, Dr. Karen Mills for her professionalism, assessments and bedside manner, and Brian's attentive and compassionate ICU nurses, Amy Smith, Leah Hutchison and Paige Ferris.

    Huehn, Mabel Elizabeth (nee Schmitt) January 1, 1924 - March 11, 2015.

    Mabel passed peacefully with family around her on March 11, 2015. She has gone to reunite with her beloved husband, Wilson, who predeceased her 25 years ago. She was also predeceased by her dad and mom, Clarence and Elmedia Schmitt, her sister, Ilene and all her in-laws. She will be sorely missed by her son, Robert, her daughter, Marilyn Girodat (Bob) and her "special" daughter, Connie Holmes (Jim). She will be forever cherished by her grandchildren and their spouses, Nicole (Brad) and Todd Girodat (Aimee). "GG" will be lovingly remembered by her great grandchildren, who were the joy of her life - Cole, Carter, Max and Carys. She will also be missed by her nephew, Grant (Jeanne), her niece, Sue Ann (Owen), her nephew, Gil and many other nieces and nephews and all of their families. Mabel was "Mom and Grandma" to a large extended family who will also deeply mourn her loss. Her 4 legged angel, "Dougie" will be lonesome without her. We would like to express our sincere thanks to Dr. Erinn Owens for the wonderful, loving care she gave to Mom. She was amazing. Thank you also to Dr. Fielder and the 5th floor crew at St. Mary's Hospital for being so kind and considerate to Mom in her stays. We are thankful also for the wonderful care she received from CCAC, from her case managers to her PSWs, to her OTs and PTs, from both Red Cross and Paramed over the years. Thank you as well to the Palliative Team for their kindness and consideration through a very difficult time. Sarah, thank you for your kindness, your caring and your prayers. A special thank you from us and "Mama" to her "Guardian Angel," Kristine. You always took such special care of her. Mom was a very wonderful lady who was always there when you needed her. She always saw the good in everyone and everything.

    Mabel's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2015 and 9:30-10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, March 16, 2015 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., (519) 749-8467. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow. Interment Memory Gardens Cemetery.     With deep sadness, the children of Doreen Jacobi announce the passing of their mother at Innisfree House on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at the age of 79. Doreen was the precious and much loved mother of Susan and her husband Don Brenner, Linda and her husband Stan Knight and Steven Jacobi and his wife Nancy. She was the cherished Nana of Brianna Doreen Jacobi "the apple of her eye". She was the special Nana of Jessica, James and Michelle Conlon. Doreen is survived by her dearly loved brother Bruce Heimpel (Marge), and his children Pattimarie Wagner (Wayne) and Jeff Heimpel (Nadine) and their families. Also dearly missed by Joy Heimpel. She is survived by her sister-in-law Doreen E. Jacobi and her children, Carol Jacobi and Donna Sargent (Brian) and their families. Left to cherish her memory are her godchildren, many special cousins and countless friends. Doreen was predeceased by her husband and best friend Earl Jacobi (1996) and by her parents Doris (nee Doerbecker) and Clayton Heimpel. Also predeceased by her brother-in-law Walter Jacobi and her father-in-law Clarence Jacobi. Doreen was a life long member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Erbsville. She was an active member of the Waterloo Rod and Gun Club Ladies Auxiliary where she catered events for many years. Doreen worked in the cafeteria at Elmira District Secondary School and then later in the cafeteria at Home Hardware in St. Jacobs. After she retired, Doreen spent many happy years living at ValleyView Apartments in St. Jacobs spending her days with friends, playing cards, sharing stories and visiting local theatres and restaurants. Doreen's family offers their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses and volunteers at Innisfree House, as well as their gratitude for the generosity of our community, who through their donations make this type of hospice facility possible in our region. Family and friends will be received at Robert Ruggle Funeral Home, 617 King St. N., Waterloo on Thursday, December 8, 2016, from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday, December 9, 2016, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service celebrating Doreen's life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, December 10, 2016, at 2 p.m. with The Rev. Patricia Jackson officiating (Doreen's God Daughter). Cremation will follow.
