    Notes:

    Roth.-Daniel, son of the late John and Barbara (Beller) Roth, was born in Oxford Co., Ont., Feb. 17, 1864; died of a heart attack, May 28, 1947; aged 83 y. 3 m. 11 d. His wife preceded him in death in 1939. One infant daughter also predeceased him. Surviving are 5 children (Christian, Crosshill, Ont.; Samuel, Bamberg, Ont.; Joseph, Corfu, N. Y.; Beana-Mrs. Abe Graber, Middlebury, Ind.; and Atlina-Mrs. Moses Jantzi, Wellesley, Ont.), one brother (John, of Ontario), and 3 sisters (Lena-widow of the late John Albrecht, Beana-Mrs. Dan Ropp, and Katie-Mrs. Henry Albrecht, all of Ontario). Funeral services were conducted by Samuel Lichti at the late home of the deceased May 31, and at the Cedar Grove Amish Mennonite Church, of which he was a member from the time of his youth.

    Bishop Samuel Roth, 79, of Lisbon died Friday, February 1 at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener.

    Born in Mornington Township, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Roth.

    Surviving besides his wife, the former Catherine Brenneman, are two sons, Nelson of RR 2 Wellesley and Kenneth of RR 1 Wellesley; three daughters, Mrs. Lorne (Mildred) Rupert of RR 1 Gadshill, Esther of RR 1 Wellesley, Mrs. Eli (Edna) Miller of Stuart Draft, VA; two sisters Mrs. Manas (Bena) Miller of Middlebury, Ind., Mrs. Moses (Adeline) Jantzi of Wellesley; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was ordained minister in 1945 of The Cedar Grove Amish Mennonite Church; in 1953 he was ordained bishop.

    Funeral services were conducted Monday from Cedar Grove Amish Mennonite Church.

    Burial followed in the church cemetery.

    BOSSENCE, Mrs. Magdalena (Lena) 1991 On Sunday, June 16, 1991, at Palmerston General Hospital, Lena Bossence, of 23 Albert St., Ayton and formerly of Peffers. She was born in Mornington township 87 years ago, a daughter of the late John S. Albrecht and the former Magdalena Roth. Beloved wife of Thomas Alexander Bossence who predeceased her November 3, 1968. Lovingly remembered by her children, Vera and her husband Edwin Friedmann, Carol and her husband Gerry Wing, all of Linwood, Barbara and her husband Colonel Schneider, Lloyd and his wife Betty Bossence, Vivian Greenley, all of Arthur, Shirley and her husband Fred Fischer of Cambridge, Dianne and her husband Gerry Boeve of Ayton. Sadly missed by one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Nora (Allan) Rogers of Waterloo; 22 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Lena was predeceased by one son, John; two brothers, Jacob and John and two sisters, Katie (Mrs. Dan Brenneman) and Barbara Albrecht. Friends and relatives may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 9 Pacifica Ave. Milverton, after 2 p.m. Tuesday and until Wednesday, where the funeral service will be held at 1: 30 p.m., with Rev. Neil Lackey officiating. Interment in Greenwood cemetery, Milverton. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Beloved wife and best friend of Leon for almost 49 years, married October 11, 1958. Devoted and loving mom to Perry Shantz and Penny Penticost and her husband John, all of Kitchener. Ruth will be missed by her grandbabies Kylie, Brooke, and Joel Penticost. Survived by sisters and brothers, Mary Jantzi; brother-in-law, Ohmer Gerber, William Roth (Cora), Mahlon Roth, Erma Roth, Samuel Roth, Eileen Roth (David), Viola Wagler. Ruby will always be remembered for baking pies, donuts, coffee cakes and hosting large dinners with family and friends. She had adored her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens. She enjoyed spending time at the cottage, fishing and playing board games, especially Aggravation. She was a member of Crosshill Mennonite Church and Women's Sewing Circle. She had a love for quilting and quilted one for each of her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by many.     ALBRECHT, William "Bill"-With great sadness, the family announces the sudden unexpected passing of Bill, at home, with his wife Anne at his side on Sunday, November 7, 2021, in his 90th year. Precious and loving husband of Anne Fowler. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Erma Roes (2016). Loving father of Lorraine Guenther (Roy), Sharon McKay (David), Marlene Fisher (Dennis), Bruce (Ramona), Brian (Sandi) and stepfather of Peter Fowler. Dear grandfather of 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He will be missed by his sister Ruby Roth and his brother's in-law and sister's in-law; Clarence Poole, John and Emmaline Roes, Ivan and Reta Roes, Norm and Sharon Roes, Jane and Joseph Stern and Heather and Paul Adelman.     Predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Lena Bossence; one brother, John; one sister, Vivian and her father-in-law, Andrew Schneider.
    The family will receive friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, today (Monday) from 2-4 an 7-9 p.m. At 11 a.m. Tuesday, transfer will be made to Emmanuel Missionary Church, Arthur Street South, Elmira, for funeral service at 1 p.m., with Pastor Phil Delsaut officiating, followed by interment in Elmira Union Cemetery.

He was born in Wellesley Township 89 years ago, son of the late John Ropp and the late Emma Roes. Emanuel was a member of Faith Mennonite Church. He farmed on Streicher Line, retiring from the farm in 1973. Beloved husband of Annie (Brenneman) Ropp whom he married April 14, 1979. Dear father of Edith and her husband Gerald Martin of Waterloo, Irene and her husband Paul Hansen of Brooks, Alberta and David and his wife Janet Ropp of Millbank. Brother of Elmer and Edna Ropp of Brunner, Esther Gerber of New Hamburg, Adeline and Elmer Erb of Millbank and Barbara and Joseph Kennel of New Dundee. Brother-in-law of Milton Roth. Cherished grandpa of Julie Martin, Jennifer and Ben Hofstede, Kevin and Scott Hansen, Sonja and Ken Porfoun, Nadine, Katie and Leanne Ropp. Great-grandpa of eight.
