    HAMEL, Catharine Jean (nee Thoman) Passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus at Grand River Hospital on Wednesday, October 22, 2014, at the age of 92 years. Beloved wife of the late Paul Hamel (1995). Dear mother of Pauline Bergman (Les) and Jane Hamel. Loving grandmother of Heather Zunic (Dino) and Alison Orth (John). Special great-grand-mother of Elayna, Sabrina, Avril and Drake. Predeceased by her parents Isaiah and Catharine Thoman. Jean was a dedicated homemaker and loved all her grandchildren dearly. Her hopes were fulfilled with the arrival of her three great-grandchildren who brought her much joy. Friends are invited to share their memories of Jean with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A private family funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with a reception to follow in the Fireside Reception Room.     At the Ford Hospital, Detroit, Mich., on Monday, March 27, 1978, after a brief illness, Clarence R. Thoman of 9000 East Jefferson Ave., Detroit, Mich., aged 70 years. Mr. Thoman was born in Waterloo, a son of the late Russell Thoman and the former Luella Weiderholt. He was employed as a representative of the Educational Department of the International Union of the United Auto Workers, he retired in 1975. A member of the board of directors of the Ferndale Labor History Society and the Ferndale Lodge, AF and AM, number 506. He is survived by his wife, the former Esmeralda Toomey; and by his two sisters, Mrs. Margaret McGowan and Roberta Thoman, both of Kitchener and a brother, Robert, also residing in Kitchener. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener. Funeral and committal service in the chapel Thursday, at 11 a.m., with Rev. A. Ward Woolner officiating.     HELLER, Elsie May Passed away, following a courageous battle, at Trinity Village Care Centre on Saturday, July 3, 2010 in her 91st year. Loving mother of three children and their families, Robert (Nancy) Heller of Woodstock, Bruce (Laurie) Heller of Kitchener and Brenda (Dan) Matchett of Woodstock, dearly loved grandmother of Joshua, Jaclyn, Jordan, Lindsay, and Melissa. Elsie will also be remembered by her two sisters Myrtle Armstrong and Mabel Huehn. She was predeceased by her husband Roy in 1975, her parents Ervin and Mary Rieck, and her brother Harold Rieck. Elsie will be remembered as a woman of faith, strength and courage, raising her children on her own following her husband's death right up to the final days of her illness. She was an active and continued to be a dedicated member of First Baptist Church. The family would like to extend their thanks to the entire staff of Trinity Village Care Centre for the excellent care and kindness shown to Elsie and her entire family. Friends are invited to share their memories of Elsie with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate her life and faith will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Wednesday, July 7 at 10:30 am with Pastor Robert Snell of First Baptist Church officiating. A reception will follow in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home and interment will take place at Parkview Cemetery following the reception.
